Nintendo stopped supporting Famicom(NES). When I heard news about that yesterday, I felt that it marked an end of an era.
Itmedia is reporting that Nintendo of Japan is finally ceasing hardware support for the Famicom system (the Japanese equivalent of the NES) as of October 31st. (ARCADE RENAISSANCE)
In fact, Famicom history has already ended since Nintendo launched Super Famicom in 1990.
Famicom was released in 1983. I bought Famicom and Mario Brothers when I was in the second grade at primarily school in 1984. Famicom era was really our age. I played a lot of games with my friends. Playing with friends was more exciting than playing alone.
I still have Famicom and its softwares in my parents’ home, although I have never played for a long time. Now you can play Famicom game with Wii but it is a bit difference from playing with the traditional controller of Famicom.
